A fine day indeed...

This was a perfect day.

How could it not be when you wake up to this?!

A slow start to the day... cuddle time!

And Spring weather beckoned us out!

RIGHT before Ray set the camera up to take a timed photo, he was mentioning how frustrated he was by so many people cutting off his head in photos. Whoops- the situation was so ironic he didn't even take a good one. Ha!

A kiss for the little boy down by the lake...

The walk tuckered them out...

There was a surprise birthday party for one of Ray's teammates and his girlfriend rented out an outstanding bar/cafe for the party. It was the first time we have officially been "out" as a family, and we had a really great time. The ambiance was amazing, the food was INCREDIBLE (about 10 courses of dishes!!!), and the kiddos were zonked out the whole time! Papa and I really needed this time. A special date, with our babes. Perfect day.

Together Again...

Well, after too long a hiatus, Sol is finally back home. The doctor told me that Sol never actually had anything wrong with him (which made me deeply question why he needed to stay at the hospital so long). We know that there are strong issues with liability in the hospitals here... and it is our theory that they didn't want to get sued if there was something wrong with him. All that said and done, our little boy came home yesterday and he is as healthy as can be! He is gaining weight steadily and growing stronger by the day. I think our two little peas are quite content to be back in the pod together!! And boy, are Mama and Papa happy to have our little family here as One.

Sophia time

Since Sol's been in the hospital, there has been a lot of opportunity for one-on-one time with Sophia. Papa's certainly been soaking it up!!

It's Spring!!

The sun has broken out a couple of days here in Otsu, and boy does it make us itch for Spring! Sophia seems to have enjoyed the walks as well!!

A perfect day...

For Roz's final day here with us, we decided to take it easy. We headed up the lake and found ourselves a cozy place on the beach. The sun was bright and so warm. What a treat...

Sophie was able to soak up some special time with Gramma...

We sure will miss you Rosalind!! Having you here has been a true gift, and all four of us will never forget the time you dedicated to us here. We love you so dearly!

Kyomizudera

On Saturday, with Ray at an away game, Roz and I and Sophie took a little excursion to Kyoto to see Kyomizu Temple (established in the 700's!!) and the surrounding area known for its pottery...

Despite the hoards of people, the weather held out for us and I was able to introduce Roz to the "true Japan"...

Sophie enjoyed herself too, doing what she does best...

We stopped for some very yummy lattes...

And had a nice meal at a quaint Jap-Italian restaurant...

A wonderful day indeed. When we returned to Otsu I ran up to the hospital to visit Sol. He is doing SO well. He just slept in my arms. The nurse confirmed that he is one healthy and growing baby boy. We will have him back with us next week!!
